Katie, Physical Therapist and
Early Interventionist
Katie is an Arizona native who graduated from Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. She received her Bachelor's of Health Science degree in Kinesiology at Arizona State University. Katie is also now a certified board specialist in pediatric physical therapy.
She has had prior experience working as a respite and habilitation provider and also as a certified nursing assistant in a group home for children and young adults with varying special needs. These experiences led to her passion for working with children and their families to promote functional well-being and independence. She has clinical experience working with individuals across the lifespan in various settings, however has most enjoyed working with children. Katie also completed a clinical internship with Phoenix Children's Hospital with emphasis of children with congenital heart defects in acute, ICU, and outpatient Multidisciplinary Cardiac Clinic settings. As a first generation Chinese-American she understands the importance of understanding and integrating culture with healthcare. She is dedicated to working as a team with the families and approaches her therapy through a holistic, evidence-based, culture sensitive, and family-centered perspective.
In her free time, Katie enjoys running/walking with her dog, camping, kayaking, cooking, painting or drawing, working on her non-profit to support families of medically complex children, and spending time with friends and family.
