Staff Bio

Meghan, CFC Director and
Speech Language Pathologist

Meghan Swanson completed her Bachelor's degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences and her Master's degree in Communication Disorders at Arizona State University. She is a native of Arizona and has never left because everywhere else is too cold!

 

Meghan has a passion for family-centered therapy and has enjoyed her time providing therapy at Desert Valley Pediatric Therapy since 2015. She has worked in a variety of settings at DVPT including early intervention services, home-, clinic- and community-based services as well as telehealth. She has experience working with children from birth to young adulthood with a variety of disabilities including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cognitive delays, and Down Syndrome. Meghan took over as Comfort Feeding Clinic Director in 2022. She has supported the growing field of pediatric feeding therapy by guest lecturing at the graduate level at Arizona State University and has presented at the 2023 Feeding Matters International Feeding Disorders Pre-conference. Meghan has had formal training in treating feeding and swallowing disorders from ages birth to adolescence. She treats clients who are struggling with breast-/chest- feeding, bottle feeding, transitions to solid foods, and clients with limited foods repertoires. She enjoys supporting families in attaining goals of enjoyable family mealtimes.

 

In her free time, Meghan enjoys cooking, gardening, traveling, and spending time with her husband in the outdoors, hiking or rock climbing.
